Notoriously unpredictable, spicy nightclub Filter turned the SaveMe Expressway and the surrounding surface streets into a parking lot on a Thursday evening. How you ask? Well let us tell you, now that it’s safe to report it.
You see we actually had this full story yesterday, while the catalytic event in question was still on going, but we know how you Namkandans stay on this blog and well, we didn’t want to post the story and throw fuel to the fire. (And the Traffic Safety Division's director begged us not to post it.)
So what caused the biggest traffic jams in the region’s history…
It was around 5pm in Shimmering Lie district… the sun was heading down. Traffic on the streets surrounding Filter, on the expressway and the off ramp a few blocks away was at a standstill. The problem? The problem was commuter’s phones blowing up. Getting real time notifications in traffic about the real time happening unfolding at Filter. Then everyone at once deciding they needed to turn their cars and head towards the club.
You see, last year Thursday nights at Filter turned into African & Latin Dance themed nights. This happened quite organically, as some local dance chose Thursday as their night to dress up and take what they’d learned in the classroom to a club, and drawing inspiration from Filter’s 화재 energy, hype each other up and show off what they could do.
The dance community in Shimmering Lie is a strong one, and the only thing they love more than dancing is doing it with each other and encouraging others to join in.
So it didn’t take long for the word to get around and soon the dance floors were packed. Pros, teachers, students, tourists…all dance fans wanted in on Thursday nights.
The club also invites pros as VIPs, to perform and to show eager patrons a step or two on the dance floor. And this is relevant because of what happened yesterday.
Yesterday, the theme was Kizomba Night...
Yesterday, the lights went down on the showcase stage, the music started……and yesterday when the lights came back up there was a man and woman facing each other onstage.
And the male half of that couple was Vice-President Park Jimin.
WTF?!?!..

BRO, WTFFF??!?!!!
And?? There on stage to perform with Jimin was none other than Nara (broo, wtffff), one of the hottest dancers in the country.
So yesterday, many Namkandans died, as all hell broke loose and their souls levitated up out of their bodies.
The couple dancing on stage was exquisitely beautiful, technical skill unmatched and their chemistry, pure fire. The audience was sweating and it wasn't a problem with the club's A/C. When Thursday night’s attendees opened their eyes on Friday morning, they were a new kind of animal. Listen, I've only seen fancams and even I can say I feel different. I can’t comprehend standing right there in the room.
But hold on...imagine you’re on your way home when you get this news. Imagine your panic, realizing you’re “only 10/only 15/only 20 minutes away” from Filter. Imagine the FOMO terror,.. Rational thought flees your mind and all you know is that YOU GOTTA GO.
And that, readers, is what caused the traffic shutdown.
If you’re unfamiliar with Kizomba, the style of dance Jimin performed is famous for it’s slow, sensual styling. The hips, the body rolls, body waves, the intimate connection with your partner, it's gorgeous work.
Jimin and Nara performed not once, but three times! Two demos, then after a short intermission and clothing change, they returned to the stage and performed an original piece.
The audience held their breath during all of it, screamed like they were dying when it was over, and tried to get as much of it on camera as they could. Who could blame them, who knew if they would get this chance again!
Lots of people have asked us, but WE DON’T KNOW what prompted him to do this. Yes, VP Park often visits at his clubs to relax and enjoy himself, but never has he so clearly and directly chosen violence towards the community.
Of course social media and news outlets were flooded with articles and posts about the event and the traffic it caused. One of our staffers who was there managed to collect vids and comments from the audience. Dancers and fans both praised Jimin’s footwork, fluid hips and the way he lead, making space for his dance partner to shine:
“You see the footwork?? Effortless! And the hips went CRAZY. Haha, see what I did, "Like Crazy”….”
“Beautiful!! The way he held her close but gave her all the space she needed to let her cook. THAT’S how it's done! "
“Their hips were hypnotic, like, I can’t …No you don’t understand, that shit was PROVOCATIVE, like.... yeah that's burned into my brain forever."
"Bro, they just ruined so many relationships tonight. Standards going astronomical..."
"Nobody's moves like Jimin. Especially in the world's tightest pants...Whew, the pants were TIGHT.”
It’s true, we have video, the pants were tight.
And yes, people were interested in everything the couple wore!
The form flattering navy blue dress shirt Jimin was wearing at the end, hugged the Vice-President’s athletic, lithe physique in the best ways, and since it was open three whole buttons down the front...it provided an unimpeded view of his beautiful jewelry!
Jimin's navy blue shirt sold out by Friday morning. Those shirts, however, will have all of their buttons.
The Tiffany fan favorites are, as of my writing of this, also sold out.
Attendees also took to their apps in attempts to track down Nara's stunning attire, her navy blue cut-out dress sparkled and caught the stage lights with every hip roll, however Nara's costume was a custom-made original.
But hang on, for those who loved watching her set fire to the stage and want something like that for yourself (a few dancewear sites crashed immediately after the show, so we guess that's a lot of you) the designer made this photo available, as she is currently creating a budget-friendly line inspired by some of Nara's original costumes. So make sure you have your notifications for Filter turned on in your app for the updates, they will drop the announcement.

And you guys did track it down, and now they're sold out.
Audience members (in person and stream viewers) also requested dance lessons of course! Immediately following the show, the local dance studios online registration forms blew up, with many requesting to learn the exact steps performed by Jimin and Nara. (they're calling it "JiNara" already, pls)
